Moving the Embassy and Recognize Jerusalem As The Capital of Israel (Response from the France Country)

American President Donald Trump's decision to move the American Embassy from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem has triggered a wave of protests in the Arab and Muslim world.
Macron and European leaders also criticized Trump's decision regarding Jerusalem, stating that the status of the city was a crucial issue that had to be negotiated between Israel and Palestine. The French president said his country supported a two-state solution to the conflict in the Middle East, and that in this solution, East Jerusalem was envisioned as the capital of a Palestinian state later.
"France wants both countries to coexist peacefully with internationally recognized boundaries in the region between Israel and Palestine. In this context, I explained to Prime Minister Netanyahu that I did not approve the recent statement of the president of the United States, which France believes is contrary to international law and dangerous to peace, "Macron said.
France disapproved of the US decision to move the state embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, regarded it as violating international law, French Foreign Minister Jean-Yves Le Drian said, "France did not approve the US decision to move the US Embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem, as the Republican President (Emmanuel Macron) has repeatedly stated. This decision violates international law, in particular, the UN Security Council resolution and the UN General Assembly, "Le Drian said in a statement.
According to Jean-Yves Le Drian, international law is "unambiguous when it comes to the status of Jerusalem."
"This must be decided in negotiations, as a set of parameters agreed upon by the international community, in an effort to achieve a just and long-lasting solution for two countries living side by side in peace and security, both of which have Jerusalem as the capital. This is what the law says and that is the essence of our peace efforts in the Middle East, "said the statement.
